This session walks through what changed when oversight authority transferred from USBE to DFCM, the two-track process for capital improvement and capital development projects, and the general project lifecycle from pre-design through certificate of occupancy. We'll introduce your key points of contact at DFCM — your Regional Code Official, your DFCM PMA representative, and program leadership — and clarify the architecture you'll be working with throughout your project.' 12:00pm - 01:00pm LUNCH 01:00pm - 02:00pm 'DFCM - Online Portal Presented By: Chris Cox, Program Manager; Jill Rafferty, Program Manager See the DFCM Online Portal in action through a live demonstration of the system LEAs will use to manage construction projects from start to finish. We'll walk through submitting a pre-design application, the construction (pre-construction) application, and how delivery method approval works for design-bid-build, design-build, and CMGC projects. The demo covers how to verify a contractor is on the approved registry, how AE and design contract review works before you can execute a design agreement, and how the cost matrix factors into project approval for capital development projects.' 02:00pm - 03:00pm 'DFCM - Code Compliance and Qualified Professionals Presented By: Jason Van Ausdale, DFCM Building Official; Chris Cox, Program Manager; Jill Rafferty, Program Manager Understand what DFCM is reviewing for code compliance and who is qualified to do that work. This session covers the IBC-based requirements DFCM reviews on every project — structural, accessibility, energy, fire and life safety, and MEP, and school security — and introduces the roles of qualified plan reviewers and code inspectors, both DFCM in-house staff and approved third-party professionals. We'll explain how to get listed on DFCM's qualified roster, what certifications are required, and how the special inspection process works for your project.' 03:00pm - 03:15pm BREAK 03:15pm - 04:15pm 'EDMA - Permitting, Inspections, and Certificate of Occupancy Presented By: Jason Van Ausdale, DFCM Building Official Learn how the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) works once your project moves into construction documents and plan review.
